Jokey Red Carpet Interaction Between Ryan Gosling And Simu Liu Have People Recalling Liu's Interesting Internet History

A jokey moment between Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu on the red carpet captured in a recent viral video has some questioning the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star's vibes.

In an exchange, Gosling and Liu stand next to each other for a photo op and seem to have a tense moment in which it seemed to many as if they don't like each other.

In the clip, filmed on June 28th, Liu approaches Gosling with a smile and touches his arm. Gosling says something to him and the pair then give serious, stony faces for the press.

This was enough to give off the impression that Liu was disliked by Gosling and the rest of the Barbie cast to some, which was apparently cause for reverie.

Liu has been somewhat of a divisive figure online, particularly since a 2021 controversy that involved his Reddit history being analyzed after he purportedly expressed sympathy towards MAPs and once made a joke about women not being as good as men at volleyball.

However, Liu, along with several others online, expressed that people were reading too much into the situation.

Gosling and Liu play rival Kens in Barbie, and it appears that Gosling may have wanted to portray their on-screen animosity in front of the press. That's purportedly why he brushed Liu off and the two began making more serious faces after Liu tried smiling for the cameras.

In an Instagram Story, Liu wrote, "I’d beach off with this Kenadian again in a heartbeat. He is the best human in every way, especially when he jokes around with us on the carpet and on set, infecting all of us with his kenergy."
