Kai Cenat Threatens To Leave Twitch If CEO Dan Clancy Doesn't Unban IShowSpeed, But It Might Just Be A Bit

Twitch, seemingly always embroiled in some sort of controversy, appears to have received an ultimatum from its top streamer Kai Cenat, who has threatened to leave the platform unless his friend IShowSpeed is unbanned.

Over the weekend, Cenat threatened on his stream to leave Twitch if Speed didn't get unbanned, though it sounded sarcastic, and Cenat followed up by saying he was joking. Speed has been banned from Twitch since 2021 over a controversy in which he implied he would sexually assault a woman if they were the "last two people on Earth" in a hypothetical scenario.

Cenat has been trying to get Speed unbanned for some time now, revealing in late July that he spoke with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy about getting the controversial streamer unbanned.

At yesterday's Streamy Awards, Cenat and Speed ran into Clancy and were recorded begging Clancy to unban Speed, with Speed literally on his knees.

Cenat posted the seemingly lighthearted interaction to his Instagram Story last night. Again, Cenat said that if Twitch doesn't unban Speed, he's "done," implying he would leave the platform.

It's also worth noting that both Cenat and Speed are mired in controversy right now.

Cenat is dealing with the legal fallout from the riot he inadvertently caused in New York City while Speed is dealing with the fallout from accidentally exposing himself in a stream on YouTube (where he moved post-Twitch ban).

While Cenat doesn't seem too serious about his threats for now, it does call to mind that he reportedly received a $40 million offer to exclusively stream on Kick, which is supposedly much looser with its content restrictions, for better or worse.
