Absolutenutcase162's SpongeBob Comics are absurdist webcomics based on SpongeBob SquarePants characters published by the Instagram page @absolutenutcase162. In the early 2020s, multiple webcomics posted by the page went viral online, with several such as We Have Come for Your Nectar and Hi, Squidward spawning meme formats.

Origin

On April 18th, 2022, the Instagram^[1] page absolutenutcase162 was created, posting its first image^[2] (at this time not yet SpongeBob-related) on that day. Later that day, absolutenutcase162 posted^[3] its first absurdist meme based on SpongeBob SquarePants characters, with the page fully adopting the theme nearly from the start (first three SpongeBob memes posted by the page shown below).

Spread

Through 2022 and the first three months of 2023, absolutenutcase162 posted over 400 memes, all of them based on absurd interactions between SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and other SpongeBob SquarePants characters, with other characters from franchises such as Family Guy and Marvel Comics also appearing. For example, on May 6th, 2022, the user posted^[4] a meme imagining SpongeBob as bees seeking nectar, which spawned the We Have Come for Your Nectar meme format. The post gained over 3,700 likes in one year (shown below, left). On June 13th, the page posted^[5] a three-panel meme that gained over 3,900 likes in nine months (shown below, right).

As of March 30th, 2023, absolutenutcase162 had over 23,000 followers on Instagram.

We Have Come for Your Nectar

We Have Come For Your Nectar refers to a phrase said by multiple red-cheeked and high-waisted SpongeBob Squarepants' that resemble bees, also known as SpongeBees, SpongeSwarm, or, FlyBobs, hovering and annoying Squidward Tentacles, making him say, "Get the fuck out of my house!" The trend became notable on Instagram and iFunny in mid-2022 amid ironic memes, absurd memes and voiceover videos.

Hi Squidward

It Sure Is Nice Driving My 2020 Chevy Silverado / Hi Squidward is a viral video and meme in which Squidward Tentacles is driving a 2020 Chevy Silverado pickup truck when a SpongeBob deer steps out in front of him. The video was uploaded to iFunny by iFunnyer @NINEUP (Nine-Up Gonz) in March 2023, however, it was inspired by a precursor meme called The Scenery Sure Is Pleasant From My Hot Squid Balloon / Hi Squidward in which a SpongeBob missile shoots Squidward's "hot squid balloon" out of the sky. The meme was shared on Instagram in mid-2022 by the user @absolutenutcase162 (the same creator as the We Have Come For Your Nectar meme). In 2023, variations of the format spread to YouTube and TikTok as video creators inserted the duo into similarly absurd scenarios in which an object-based SpongeBob would ruin Squidward's good time.
