Kevin Spacey Lands Role In Upcoming Film About Man Wrongly Accused Of Pedophilia
Since a series of sexual misconduct allegations were made against Kevin Spacey in 2017, the actor has mostly stayed out of the public eye, save for a series of strange Christmas videos where he played his House of Cards character Frank Underwood. Last weekend, ABC News reported that Spacey has landed his first role in four years, in a film about a man wrongly accused of pedophilia.
L'uomo Che Disegno Dio —or The Man Who Drew God— will be directed by Italian director Franco Nero, who will also star in the role of the film's main character, a blind painter who can create accurate portraits of people based solely on their voice. Spacey will play a small role as a detective who investigates the main character after he is wrongly accused of sexually abusing children.
"I'm very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film," said Nero. "I consider him a great actor and I can't wait to start the movie." Spacey has not commented on the role.
News of the role, as well as its subject matter, caused Spacey's name to trend on Twitter, where the news was not met with enthusiasm.
Kevin Spacey being cast to play the investigator in a movie about a wrongly accused pedophile, a movie where Spacey is painted as the ‘hero’ and ‘good guy’ in a story about sexual abuse, is one big, sick “fuck you” to victims everywhere, from the most morally corrupt industry.

Miss me with that bs about how accusing a man of sexual assault ruins his life. Kevin Spacey has been accused of assaulting multiple young men, including then 14 year old Anthony Rapp, and his film career continues as though nothing happened. https://t.co/qw1R6nC9b0

The film will be Spacey's first role since 2018's Billionaire Boys Club and 2017's Baby Driver.
