Khaby Lame Passes Addison Rae, Becomes Second Most-Followed TikToker Behind Charli D'Amelio
Khaby Lame, a TikToker who rose to fame with silent reaction videos to stupid life hacks, surpassed dancer and actress Addison Rae in followers earlier this month, making him the second most-followed creator on the platform.
Lame started posting to TikTok in March 2020, gaining a significant following over the course of the year with comedy skits and reaction videos in which he never speaks. He gained widespread fame after reacting to a viral phone hack in March this year, with the video gaining over 50 million views on TikTok. Lame's popularity grew as his reaction Duets continued to gain viral success, some gaining hundreds of millions of views. Beyond TikTok, Lame has also found fame in memes across the web as a representation of the ultimate life-hack exposer and genius.
At the start of July, Lame fans noticed that he had well-surpassed 80 million followers, effectively stripping dancer and actress Addison Rae of her second-place spot, where she sat comfortably behind Charli D'Amelio for the better part of a year.

Eighty-four million-plus followers are nothing to shrug at, but Lame still has a long way to go to surpass TikTok's reigning queen Charli D'Amelio, who boasts over 119 million followers at the time of writing and an upcoming reality series on Hulu. In typical Lame fashion, he has remained silent on becoming the second-most followed creator on TikTok.
