Influencer and reality TV star Kim Kardashian posted a photo on Instagram Tuesday to promote her Skims underwear brand, which didn’t include her belly button. While seemingly insignificant, the oddity led many to speculate she’d photoshopped it out.
The famous celebrity's absent navel became a flashpoint, with many accusing her of altering her body in photos and lying to her audience as it trended on Twitter and sparked a brief but viral debate online.

Kardashian responded to the controversy by replying that the high-waisted underwear she wears in the photo is intended specifically to conceal belly buttons.
