Marjorie Taylor Greene has had a rather eventful time since being elected to congress in the 2020 Election, with her past support of QAnon conspiracy theories efforts to overturn the election of Joe Biden and numerous violent statements getting her barred from any committee roles in congress. That's but a sliver of the controversies she's been at the center of in her political tenure, but yesterday she drew social media's attention for another reason: her bizarre pullup form.

Greene, a noted opponent to all COVID-19-related safety protocols, posted her "COVID-19 protection" workout to Twitter yesterday, showing her doing a few reps with weights and then a very, shall we say, "floppy" pull-ups.

First of all, it's important to note that working out in itself is not a way to protect oneself from contracting COVID-19, according to the CDC, but that wasn't what caused her tweet to rack up a 43,000 reply to 4,200 retweet ratio. Rather, people could not stop mocking her swinging pull-ups.

Greene did not invent her unique pull-up form. The pull-ups, called "Butterfly Pull-ups" or "Kipping Pull-ups," are part of the Crossfit training regimen, and have been the target of mockery among bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts well before Greene introduced her take on it to the world. For their part, Crossfit wants nothing to do with Greene.
