Infowars staffers are sharing footage of the company's founder Alex Jones risking his life to save children from getting smuggled at the U.S.-Mexico border. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the video has raised serious questions about whether it's genuine or staged.

In the video, Jones and other Infowars crew members begin berating an alleged staff member of the Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley for having a van full of young children, initially for not having "car seats." Jones and crew then demand the driver identify himself and Jones accuses the driver of "smuggling" the children. The driver indicates, "they’re going to check the COVID over there," Police arrive at the scene and the children can be seen getting out of the van as the video ends.

The Catholic Charities organization provides relief to immigrants who have crossed the border and need assistance. Nearby is a COVID-19 testing site which they use to test all new migrants.

Some conservatives on Twitter were quick to praise Jones for his apparent bravery. Even Keemstar jumped in to say Jones "deserves some praise" if he "really" saved children.

However, due to Jones' reputation as a conspiracy theorist, many more were inclined to believe the video was staged. Many pointed out how bizarre it was that Jones happened to have a camera crew with him during this supposedly heroic act.

Others pointed out that, even if the video was genuinely not staged, Jones and his crew made a massive scene over what is at worst a seatbelt violation.

Snopes labeled the question "Did Alex Jones Stop Smugglers From Illegally Transporting Children at Border?" false, writing, "There is no evidence that the video shows anything other than what it appears to present: Jones and his cohorts surrounding and yelling at a car driven by a charity worker who was taking immigrant children a short distance to be screened for COVID-19."
