The When We Were Young Festival just announced its 2022 lineup and presale tickets, and if you were a scene or emo kid in the mid-2000s, it looks absolutely stacked.

Paramore, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Bright Eyes and a whole host of bands who soundtracked many an angsty teen writing in their diary in 2006 are due to appear in Las Vegas on October 22nd, and while this is certainly exciting for many people, a growing number of doubters fear that nothing good can happen from putting all those pop-punk acts in one place. "Emo Fyre Festival" began trending on Twitter shortly after the announcement of When We Were Young.

At the moment, there's nothing to suggest When We Were Young will be a disaster on the scale of the infamous music-fest-turned-humanitarian-disaster, but there are some warning signs pointed out by users online. For starters, many noted that the announcement features about 60 bands but only one day of performances spread out over three stages. The Las Vegas Festival Grounds, which will host the event, is a 40-acre plot of land and can accommodate up to 80,000 attendees.

Furthermore, Live Nation is promoting the festival, the same organization that promoted Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival in which eight people died and hundreds were injured. This also gave interested potential attendees cause for concern.

We'll have to wait until October to see if When We Were Young will be an emo fan's dream or nightmare.
