World's Ugliest Dog Contest Crowns New Champion
Has the World's Ugliest Dog Contest gone to the dogs?
On June 24th, a three-year old Neapolitan mastiff named Martha won the annual World's Ugliest Dog Contest held at the Sonoma-Marin County Fair.
The competition was fierce. To win, Martha had to beat some real lovable uggos that are frankly far more aesthetically challenged than Martha. The results have shaken the dog-loving internet: Jezebel has gone on record saying Martha “isn’t that ugly” when compared to some of her competition. We Rate Dogs balked at the results in its idiom.
Martha is stunning how h*ckin dare you. 13/10 https://t.co/9uABQXgjwa

So just who did Martha beat to take the title? Let's look at some ugly dogs, shall we?
Now those are some ugly little rats! But Martha, who is blind in one eye, gaseous, lazy and an unbearable snorer, won over both the crowd and the judges with her massive jowls and generally lackadaisical demeanor. At 125 pounds, she became one of the largest winners in recent memory. After being declared the winner, Martha celebrated by flopping on the stage for a nap (it had been a tiring day, after all).
While Martha's claim to the title Ugliest Dog In the World is dubious, she is certainly the most memorable champion since Sam, the three-time champ from 2003 to 2005.
