YouTuber iShowSpeed, a frequently controversial streamer, has apparently been arrested this week following a livestream in which he purportedly blew up a PS4 and placed a prank call to the police department. It is currently unclear what charges iShowSpeed, real name Darren Watkins Jr., is being held on or the status of his case.

Many were shocked but also unsurprised by iShowSpeed’s arrest as the viral story broke online yesterday. The streamer is infamous for doing unhinged and dangerous things, such as his July 4th video in which he almost set fire to his home while shooting fireworks off indoors.

Many online are responding to a minute-and-a-half long clip of iShowSpeed’s arrest, which ends with a police officer forcing the person filming to stop. Following its spread, the hashtag "#freespeed" trended on Twitter as fans pushed for the release of the streamer.

During the longer YouTube livestream, iShowSpeed called 911 to inquire about whether setting fire to a PlayStation 4 console would be safe, and the officer on the line informed him it would be fine. The streamer then asked if the cop would stay on the line with him as he burned the PS4, to which the cop said "yes" and laughed.

Then, iShowSpeed started screaming and barking into the phone, telling the officer to come immediately and help him, apparently giving a false address. Immediately after hanging up, iShowSpeed expressed regret and anxiety about what the result of the call might be. Speed then went on to shout at the chat of the livestream for suggesting he would go to jail and said he was very nervous and upset before leaving the room to go attend to his 3-year-old cousin.

Some tried to digest the news of the arrest amid an array of startling and confusing events on the timeline, including the live-action Pac-Man movie announcement.

iShowSpeed's current status regarding the incident is unknown, but it appears his latest attempt at prank-related content has landed him in trouble.
