That original article always included and quoted from the full counter-complaint from his attorney and, within a few hours of publication, also cluded ersonal response to the claims against him. Hindsight being 20/20 I certainly wish we'd given him even hed with nd to be gry about being piled on and harassed over allegations for which he always should have been presumed innocent. While our original story included both sides, the follow-up helped provide more of the balance that would have been ideal from the get-go. He himself has said he wasn't able to speak as freely then. His lawsuit--in which he sued his ex-employee--was newsworthy and had been reported on. I believe hers was therefore relevant as well. The reporter on the original story hasn't worked for Kotaku for years, but I obviously still do and have factored our experiences--and Wardell's--with that story many times as we handle sensitive reporting and strive, always, to be as fair as can be.
