I'm not sure which side this is supposed to be supporting, but just in case…

If this is serious, you do realize that people with severe nut allergies can't even be near nuts, right? There's a reason food packages have a "this product was processed in a plant that also processes nuts" warning – even the tiniest trace of peanut can fuck them up. And if they get fucked up on a plane, there's no way to get them to a hospital for treatment. But hey, if you really want a tiny pack of peanuts, risking someone's painful death doesn't matter, right?

If this isn't serious, please disregard all the above.

The message is true. Just because a few don't like/can't do something doesn't mean everyone has to suffer for it.

However, the example is really poor because, as mentioned below, most people who have food allergies (especially nuts) will get instantly hospitalized if they so much as touch something that has peanuts.

What makes this example even worse is that peanuts on an airplane are sealed in plastic packages so that no one comes in actual contact with them. The person who has the allergy is perfectly safe, unless they're sitting close by to the person who's eating the peanuts.
