The original question was most likely posed as one of Steven's "biological" parents didn't actually have cells while the other did. This lead to the assumption that he may only have a half set of chromosomes due to Greg being the only parent with an actual biology to speak of. This is debunked due to the fact that Rose literally shapshifted down to the molecular level to be able to produce offspring."
