You need to understand that Lapis not giving a fuck is vital to the story. If she actually did give a damn, there would be no challenges. Every fights would just be curb-stomp battles with Lapis droping the ocean on every threats. Her not giving a fuck is the only thing making the regular crystal gems still relevant.
