Here I come, I just finished Dark Souls 3, and in my opinion Dark Souls 2 is the best game of the Souls series, now hear me out first, with the re release Scholar of the First Sin Dark Souls 2 does beat the original and Demon Souls. As for Dark Souls 3, like I love how DS 3 is so different from Dark Souls 1 and 2, and nobody cares, in DS 3 basically made Poise irrelevant, while DS 2 nerfed it, DS 3 just doesnt make it work for players at all. Then there is the issue that they made the combat like Bloodborne, who has the side effect of making all weapons that hit fast superior to everything else, my long sword carried me trough the whole game, tried Great-swords, Lances, Scythes, all shit compared to my long-sword, because it hit fast. Now all of this could have been forgiven in the game world, and level design where superior to Dark Souls 2, but nope, DS 3 is the most linear Dark Souls game, not only that, some areas have the same theme, and others are taken out straight out of previous games. As for why Dark Souls 2 is better, well it has a lot of variety in areas, enemies, weapons, is more flexible about play styles, and is more balanced than DS 1 and way more balanced than DS 3. Also story is better too. All of this is subjective however
