Well, Hitler lost the election by a very slim margin, and that executive order was made because all of Hitler's racist and bigoted followers were rioting and brawling in the streets, and so the president made Hitler Chancellor in order to appease the people. The government believed Hitler couldn't possibly be THAT bad, and that once he was in power his lack of political background would make him an ideal puppet. They were very wrong. Are we?
