I like to think in some alternate reality Clefairy is the mascot and people cry for Clefable like we do Raichu. Guess that'd mean they got an Alolan Clefable though.

For those who don't get it, Clefairy was originally going to be the Pokemon mascot. Or at least I think Ash was meant to have a Clefairy as his starter instead of Pikachu.
