Thinking about this, this actually seems logical (when you remove the jojo).
I mean…saving the guy is heroic and all, but that yellow line is there to tell you "YOU WILL BE HIT BY A FUCKING TRAIN IF YOU CROSS THIS LINE, IDIOT".
In a sudden event like this, you would have to deal with the body weight of a person and chair in a sudden event, fighting against gravity. There is a real possibility that, in the sudden nature of the event, you would lose balance and fall too. So that just means that two people would die.
This is why the US doesn't really require you to save people by law. That is because you might fuck it up, either hurting the person more or adding yourself to the number of victims. This is based off a british ad, but I think you can get the principle.
