It's a terrible habit that he's had since even back in the original Dragon Ball, but he's never been punished for his actions. The worst he usually got was people yelling at him If it's really going that route, then Super did a damn good job setting it up since the beginning. Back in B0G, everyone was utterly terrified that Goku would do something reckless and provoke Beerus, which he ended up doing. It's a miracle the Earth's still even intact, so he gets a pass In RoF, Goku was warned not to let down his guard but it ended up screwing him over and resulted in the destruction of Earth In U6 Tournament, Goku once again provokes the gods by casually speaking to Zeno, and also setting things in motion for the following arc. The Future Trunks arc is what I believe set a lot of foreshadowing. Goku held back when fighting both Zamasu and Black, something Trunks was baffled about, and Vegeta even pointing out as a very bad habit. It wasn't until he learned about Zamasu killing his family that he started taking things seriously. However, the arc ultimately ends with Goku screwing over everyone by forgetting the Mafuba seal AND summoning Future Zeno, which all resulted in Trunks' timeline being obliterated Now recent episodes seem to highlight more on toxic traits of Goku. Krillin was upset that Goku can be so easygoing about things. In this episode alone, Goten was notably trying his best to help his father be a more considerate person. Bulma almost got p----- that Goku didn't visit her to check up on her. Vegeta was very adamant about staying with Bulma, and perplexed that Goku can say things like "I was dead when Goten was born".
