"I can't win so I'll quit and lose on purpose!" is a common unhealthy coping strategy. The proper term is self-destructive behavior. The post also describes other unhealthy stuff like trust issues, but the main issue is self-destructive behavior in an attempt to 'quit' the stress of not being able to handle realistic goals and priorities.

A more lighthearted example of self-destructive behavior as a coping mechanism can be demonstrated via Game Grumps:
