I feel like communism was designed specifically to design to college students. It works great under an idealized set of assumptions that there is no practical way to accomplish. Whereas capitalism has a large number of up-front visible problems that all mostly balance out because of shitty aspects of human nature. Its very easy to write a thesis against capitalism but nobody has been able to get a viable competitor off the ground that isn't just 'capitalism with additional rules'.
