Classical amateur mistake: thinking that because you realized you are in a dream after a reality check, you are in full control of the dream. Nah, it just means you are conscious of your dreaming state. Full control is even harder than lucid dreaming, and not even people dedicated to it can do so reliably every time.

Also, that ending reminded me of ZONE's My Life As A Teenage Robot porn animation, for some reason.
