Art schools contradict true art, in my opinion. Art is subjective at its core, defined more by the stylistic choices and the color palettes of the artist creating the work, rather than defined by the object and the end product of the work. When someone embraces the freedom of their inner imagination, the sky may as well be the limit to these artists. When someone is forced to suppress this freedom, the limit is the canvas upon which the paint rests. And the above example is a prime example of this teaching in action. To destroy the chains of suppression is to care not for the end results or the subject's object, but to draw regardless of perceived rules and to give it an identity separate from yourself and others like it. Because at the end of the day, art can live for millennia after the original artist passed on.
Okay, I need to lay off the soapbox, especially to someone with a crunchy jpeg of Jerry Seinfeld as their avatar.
