true BUT that's not gonna stop me from making a pros and cons list!

PC Gaming:
Pros:
- ultimate backward compatibility
- widest variety of games
- Thanks to Steam and similar digital platforms, you don't need to pay extra money for service like or similar to Xbox Live or PSN, all you need is to pay your internet (and electricity) bill and you've got multiplayer, etc.
- uninhibited ability to use/make mods (depends on the game and even then they can be hacked to mod).
- significantly cheaper in the long-term than console gaming. This includes mod tools from developers as well!
- option of using mouse+keyboard or a controller. If you game doesn't support controllers natively then there's software like XPadder that can map controller buttons to mouse+keyboard actions. Thus you can virtually play ALL PC games with any USB controller if you want.
- emulators, nuff said.
- can upgrade anytime when you feel your hardware is underpowered.

Cons:
- more expensive in the short term than console gaming.
- even more expensive if you don't want to build your own computer and would rather get a custom PC that's prebuilt.
- Bitcoin (Shitcoin) mining has driven GPU video card prices very high.
- Viruses/malware, yea. You could play on Linux to reduce the chance of malware ruining your system but Linux is the kind of OS that relies on you needing to be the kind of guy who doesn't mind having to look up how to configure your system to run stuff.
