Twitter is just the worst, it's probably worse than Tumblr this year because Twitter gives these temper tantrums a platform. The reason why this keeps happening, no matter what topic, is because these people know it works. The best way to combat irrational behavior from villains is to firmly plant your foot down in refusal (if you're the source) or fire back (if you're in support of the source).
