Well there is one clear difference you keep forgetting.

You've actually put in real effort towards your work and have stated what it is you want to do. HSG is an American show being put onto a Japanese Anime site that claims it'll be good purely because it has a majority female team.

You know this awful show is now making me question whether or not I should continue working on Fablebusted. it's a game concept I've been working on for around a year now. The characters in my avatars are the heroes.

But still it's a story that involves "magical girls" and magic school, but it's hard to say how to compare it to this shit.

I mean uhh:

It has a magic school, although very little of the game takes place in the school. The magic school was attacked by a mad scientist who wants to eradicate magic. So the school is closed, Lori has to repeat a final exam, but can't do so while the school is on lockdown. So, she and her sister Ipsy go to challenge this mad scientist.

It has diversity. But how does it do it differently from HGS? Well the diversity comes in the forms of the environments and settings, each based off a different cultural interpretation of magic and witchcraft. African folklore, Japanese folklore, Native American Folklore, and so on. That is diversity, not giving characters different skintones, that doesn't require research nor capture culture. In fact, I'd say Lori, Ipsy, Dr. Nonfikchen, and Dorothy are the only full-on human characters.

They fight by turning their broomsticks into hammers. So the action is more direct and improvised rather than stupid magic blasts only.

and finally the story won't be about friendship, but rather about how you should be careful not to fight what you hate so hard or you might just become what you hate.
