I don't get why these same people are so good at missing subtext and imagery, they did this with girls last tour too. An anime entirely about how war destroys everything, greed consumes humanity, and the ruins left behind are all the remaining survivors have to live with and these people were like "wow cute girls and their cool ww2 guns!!!"
