Not only that, but all he really wanted was more of his own kind. He created life. People with their own wants and desires, instead of existing as mere treasure to be hoarded for no true purpose.

Then some small purple lizard goes on a genocidal rampage and destroys everything Gnasty built.

The first game is such a tragic tale.
