He gave us a fantastic Demo/Prologue/Chapter1 for free. It was extremely well made and was pretty much a complete game and fantastic improvement to Undertale in its own right.

The guy can take his time. No need to rush himself. Especially when we know he's not sitting on his ass, like with the recent Smash news. So long as it keeps the same quality of Ch 1. everyone will love it.
