Johnson Takes Oath Sworn In At Dallas Sniper Kills President DALLAS, Tex. (AP)-Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as 37th president of the United States at about 1:38 p.m. today. The oath was administered by U.S. Dist. Judge Sarah T. Hughes. Johnson took the oath aboard the presidential plane at Dallas' Love Field. He was preparing to fly to Washington to take over the government. DALLAS (AP) John F. Kennedy, 46, lived about 30 minutes after a sniper cut him down as his limousine left down- town Dallas. Newsmen said the shot that hit him was fired about 12:30 p.m. (CST).
