Fire Emblem: Three Houses - NPC Edelgard

The saddest part of this is how the church would have been Edelgard's best ally in defeating TWSITD since they are the church's most ancient enemy too. Edelgard being led to believe the church would not assist her (SS and VW show they would happily do so) leads to a big pointless war when she could have tried talking to the likes of Rhea and the other lords. The worst part being she thinks she's in the right working with the very group that caused her so much suffering.

But no, cute girl thinks thing, therefore it is.
