I do not understand this idea that enjoyable and faithful are at odds. That's saying Sonic is not enjoyable and has to be NOT Sonic to be enjoyed. However, translations of the manuals and other material are easily accessible if you actually look for them. Yes, Sonic had a true canon. The evil scientist Doctor Eggman has begun hatching another evil plan. "Sonic.. blast that annoying, impertinent hedgehog. My great plans are always spoled thanks to him. This time, I'll pinch and crush him with the power of my sciencel Heheheh.. This is South Island, a treasure trove of jewels and historic relics. And it is also said that this is the island where the illusionary "Chaos Emeralds" lay dormant. Chaos Emeralds are a super substance that gives energy to all living things. Furthermore, they can also be used as nudear weapons or high energy laser weapons by science and technology. However, no one knows how to obtain them. That is because South Island is an island that moves around and the Chaos Emeralds exist within the distortions created by the island. One day, crisis visited upon the island. Doctor Eggman and his gang got down on the island. "Hmph... I will obtain the Chaos Emeralds, even if I have to dig up this entire island for them." Sonic was not haha silly old timey cartoon then suddenly hardcore anime cheese. Classic Sonic was essentially a shonen anime, and Sonic Adventure was just a sharper version of that. Sonic was influenced more by anime than western cartoons. It's closer to Dragon Ball, Lupin, Ghibli, etc than it is Mickey Mouse. Sonic Team crafted a world and story like a shonen anime that progres sed from classic to adventure. It's frustrating and disheartening that fans rarely even know about South Island, it should be common knowledge. The movie had already impressed me with this, because it was a sign they researched Sonic much deeper than the surface. ♡ 266 27 51 Tip The Great Lange @GreatLange Feb 17 They somehow even arrived at the same theory I did that South Island was once home to a bird civilization. The owl and echidna tribe being on South Island confused viewers but these things actually tie into the lore incredibly well. I hope this is more than amazing coincidence. 600 SCORE TME D:57.
