You know Japan won the cultural war against Korea and China for influence in the West when people use japanese cliches and terms to refer to things happenning in Asia. And by what I heard from people who go to 5chan, this makes koreans angry as hell, they can't believe Japan managed to do it without any conscious effort.

That's complete bollocks. Japan has vehemently denied any wrongdoing in China or Korea before and during WW2 and refuses to teach students about the atrocities Japan committed. Some lower rank officials got executed but none of the big dogs like the Emperor got any punishment whatsoever. Anytime Korea or China asked for an apology Japan just doesn't even discuss the subject and just says bringing up stuff like this would damage their business relationship. I hate China, I think Korea is okay but I love Japan but this is one of the things they really dropped the ball and have consistently fucked up for decades. If you want an example how shameful shit like this should've been handled, look at how Germany educates their students about WW2.
