Plus you can't back out. You enter the house like a green elf bent on breaking people's pottery, you're already locked into battle with no option to say "no" or run away.

Since this is just an ordinary house in an ordinary town (as opposed to, say, climbing Mt. Fucking Silver), no wonder most people walked in unprepared and walked out in a bag.
