Conventional war is a sham. We fear nukes because they don’t let us play pretend anymore. Our “one more man”, “one more bomb”, “one more city” rationale falls apart when only 1 Bomb can incapacitate a whole city. We killed more in the fire bombings than the Atomic bombings, but it’s the A bomb we’re sickened by, because we don’t want to admit that war itself is that disgusting
