Pretty much all of the latter things are examples of some group being violently subjugated and mistreated by the state-run military of another. If Ireland just had English immigrants, or Palestine just had Israeli immigrants, who wanted to move there and work peacefully, it wouldn't be a problem. Colonialism doesn't "extinguish native cultures" by having two cultures gradually mix together, it extinguishes them by a dominant group coming in and forcibly declaring aspects of the original culture (whether it's language, religion, customs, etc.) cannot exist anymore.
