For real, I want a ticket out of this planet if those become mandatory in any shape or form. (Heard Japan experimented with smile cameras pointed at public-facing clerks)

I'm already under stress from reviewing the last times I was let go out, plus some algorithm-curated reports on my last interviews, one thing I'm learning is, pretend you're happy. Your job depends on it – And people can figure you're sad or frowning under the mask somehow.

Had a dream job where I had free reign to be an overperforming sad cowboy, but once cuts had to be made, they singled me by my social scores. Now I'm smiling so much under my mask the wrinkles in my face are actually changing.

I'm one of those people who can't hide when I'm unsatisfied with something at work, so that piece of crap would be useless. But I can only imagine the misery people working on already shitty jobs like telemarketing or fast-food chains would have to endure if something that that would be made real and forced on them.

I may not be exaggerating that would be grounds for someone eventually having a nervous breakdown and beating someone (probably the boss or an asshole customer) to half death after having enough of it.
