Old Man Henderson was created in response to a particularly dickish DM who forced strict and unfair rules upon his players and demanded that they followed his story to the letter.

There's nothing wrong with playing a completely insane character. In fact, it is one of the greatest joys in role playing.

However, it must never be taken so far as to ruin the game for everyone else.

Everyone has the right to have fun and their moments to shine, so being such a force of chaos and derailment should only be done with the consent of everyone else, or to get back at a That Guy who is ruining things for everyone else.
