The Kongamato is a cryptid that is referenced across the entirety of Africa's semi-tropical regions; but particularly in Zambia, Angola and, of course, the Congo.

The Kongamato is described as a Pterosaur with a wing span that ranges from 4ft (1.2m) and going all the way up to 100ft (30.48m) across. Presumably the ones the size of Giraffes live in the Congo, because apparently Yahweh, Allah, Buddha, Shiva and Odin have cursed the Congolese for some terrible slight they must have committed in the pass.

Now, I know a lot of you are fluent in multiple African languages, but for the few who aren't, the name Kongamato translates into "Breaker of Boats" and this sums up the behaviour of this creature very well.

These things primarily eat fish, but the larger ones are more than happy to try their luck with any hapless explorers or fishermen they come across. There have been historic accounts of European explorers coming under attack from flying creatures in the areas they are said to inhabit and occasionally natives will say that they have received wounds from these creatures.
