Space Jam: A New Legacy - The modern times could be worse

Pepe is not trying to hit on Lola. Suspension of disbelief ruined.

If anything they're trying to figure out how to use the character without triggering the "creepy stalker" reflex a lot of people most likely will have about him. In that the solution is simple: Pepe is only unattractive because he smells bad. He goes on blind dates with other people, who then learn far too late that they can't get over the skunk smell, but they try to be polite about it and find creative ways to either avoid him or the smell, but circumstances and Pepe's cluelessness always circumvent those plans, ultimately leading the date to go insane and run out the door screaming.

But unless they have a real fan of the character (and I'm not even sure if there are any real Pepe fans out there tbh) the pessimist in me thinks they won't even bother due to it being too much effort.
