Most people don't know this apparently, but tomatoes and potatoes are pretty much the same plant already. Potatoes are the roots and tomatoes are the fruits. It's just that with potato plants, the fruits that grow off of it are pretty dang poisonous since tomato and potatoes are related to the deadly nightshade.
So yeah, this isn't so much of a feat of science, as much as it is just eating tomato tubers.
