Too many of the trucks from recent crashes hit the bridge after they hit the crash beam so the railroad company lowered the beam by 2" to better protect the bridge. In 2019, we measured a clearance of 12'10" after they installed the new crash beam. They have now lowered it to 12'8", which is of course still higher than the posted clearance of 12'4".
