All and all though, I still support the withdrawal, even though it was way more chaotic than it had to be, even though I’m not happy with what’s about to happen to the women.
Trying to modernize Afghanistan was a hopeless cause from the beginning, and remember, we didn’t go to Afghanistan to give women rights, we wanted to get revenge for 9/11, which we got.

Everyone and their mother knew this would happen when we pulled out, but what good we did there got cancelled out by so much bad, stuff that we couldn’t solve without frankly engaging in true colonialism.

As for me, I better not hear how some female character showing her ankles in a video game, comic, movie, cartoon, anime, etc is somehow “oppressing women” ever again after this, since we will have a front row seat to what ACTUAL female oppression looks like.

Do people like George Alexopoulos live in a universe where only the past 6 years exist and everything around that is an empty void? The events in Afghanistan would have happened regardless of who was in charge, even if Trump won a second term. And it would have happened 10 years ago after Bin Laden Died or 30 years from now when the robo-head of Nixon gets re-elected. Implying Sleepy Joe is at total fault for this, and he sure as shit had some hand it in when it started in the early 2000s, is so short-sighted that George may very well be legally blind.
