About
George Alexopoulos is an internet-based right-wing political cartoonist known for his highly detailed and vibrant art style in comparison to the simple standards of the genre. Many of his most widely-proliferated images feature highly negative caricatures of 46th U.S. President Joe Biden and other figures/agendas of modern liberalism, and his overall body of work has drawn a gamut of reactions ranging from positive to negative to mixed.
History
George Alexopoulos has been creating artwork on a professional level since at least 2012, but the political content for which he is best known seems to have become a major focus late during the presidency of Donald Trump and in the 2020 election cycle, while his first YouTube video, a generic character-drawing demonstration, was uploaded in 2017. A Wikitubia page appears to be the most developed encyclopedic-style article about Alexopoulos as of this KYM page's composition based on a Google search. He is active on commercial sites such as Etsy and Patreon under the name StudioNJ, and on Twitter and Instagram as GPrime85.
Notable artworks
The first George Alexopoulos artwork to be posted on Know Your Meme was an apolitical piece on Dark Souls in 2014; the next posting of his content on the site did not appear until 2020, and parodies those who demand communities to which they are outsiders change their established traditions in order to accommodate them.
Among the next pieces of his to be posted, which demonstrated his increasingly political focus and the further development of the detailed art style for which he is now known, parodied the results of the George Floyd protests and riots and Joe Biden's "You ain't black" comments, the latter of which, depicting Biden sucking the color out of a black woman's skin for refusing to vote for him, is the most popular Alexopoulos image on KYM to date, with over 200 positive points, and spawned multiple follow-up pieces, which have been less well-received.
A piece satirizing the concurrent extremist anti-police activism, depicting an attractive female rookie cop, also received major attention on KYM; enough for a subversive edit to gain major traction in its own right.
Other popular artworks of Alexopoulos have depicted such topics as the "centrist griller" and Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
Despite the popularity of many of his pieces, other works of Alexopoulos have seen negative reception on KYM and exposed his more irrational biases and questionable positions, particularly regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
By March 2021, George Alexopoulos' comics and their typical features were recognizable enough for a parody of them by artist Mr. Baghead to attract well over 8,700 likes on Twitter.[1]
