ived in San Francisco Answered 4 years ago I've lived in both cities and find they are both traffic congested, Berkeley more so because it's smaller in size. It's not so bad when school's out, but when the UC students return, it's very bad. In Berkeley, you have to have a strategy for running errands efficiently or risk wasting the whole day. That's true in San Francisco, but to a lesser extent. Also, Berkeley isn't as walkable as the city. If you work in San Francisco, getting to work from Berkeley by casual carpool or BART is a hassle. Whether it's an accident on the bridge or a BART breakdown, a one-hour commute can easily turn into three hours. Both cities have a fair share of crazies, but the San Francisco variety can be more aggressive and scarier. Berkeley has a lot of self- righteous former students who never left and make everything an ethical crusade. Like the lady at Safeway, while l'm trying to get in and get out with food to feed my kids dinner, who made a complete scene about predatory vegetable pricing in a buy-two offer. She called for the manager, eventually she got the cops. I was just after salad lettuce. There's way better shopping, arts and recreation opportunities in San Francisco. It's also more dangerous. I find "liberal" is a veneer in both cities, mostly superficial beliefs held by newcomers. If your family has lived in a place for generations, a lot of the whacky rehtoric beads up and rolls off.

Karen W Follow 4 reviews a month ago Horrible experience! The security guard kept harassing a friend of mine who is mask exempt. The guard was following us around and getting into my friends space. We were super scared and the vocabulary that he was using towards her was unacceptable. She has a rare heart condition and CAN NOT wear a mask, or she will die. I will never go back, as lack of respect from this guard. He was verbally abusing her and within inches from her personal space. I'm still trembling from this traumatic experience!!!! O Helpful 3

Against Mandates October 19 at 5:01 PM I took my kids to CALM and as I was walking around the corner I thought "what is he doing?" as a mom I thought how cute! He picked his own clothes and of course that's the first thing I noticed... But he stood like this for a few minutes..I finally walked up and said "buddy what are you doing?" I looked over at the cage and it was the Bald Eagle just looking at him..he finished with a salute and said "America"... Reminded me why this fight is so important, my child knows to respect this place and it's my duty to preserve it for him....funny what you learn from your kids and how they see things without you knowing.
