Sure you could say he shouldn't have been there…

…but if we're going to stay consistent with that logic we need to also acknowledge that everybody that he had to defend himself from shouldn't have been there either.

And if the only people who had been there that night had been people who were supposed to be there then we most likely wouldn't have had a riot in the first place.
