So I briefly travelled back to my homeland of /k/ to see what my fellow /k/ommandos thought about the situation, and it does not sound good for the Russians.

They've been trying to use Deep Battle Doctrine, which requires overwhelming the enemy by making multiple, simultaneous assaults across a frontline, tearing it to shreds and pushing through in the confusion.

It does not work, if the enemy decides to just wage a ye-olde medieval style siege war instead, as the Russians can't race pass these positions without leaving a major threat in their rear lines.

So, they are forced to engage in static warfare, which is not what any of the troops are trained for and the artillery they've brought with them is more suited to short, sharp bombardments rather than continuous heavy bombardments.

So the Russians are stuck fighting the wrong type of war with the wrong type of equipment.

You don't need to be well-versed in military matters to know this is a bad situation to be in.
