According to Matt Braly himself on Twitter, King Andrias' health has been declining after he abdicated the throne and he's been refusing any repairs or upgrades to his robot body parts. Most significantly for this, he confirmed that Andrias' vision has been failing and he's slowly going blind. In fact, if you rewatch his final scene, you might notice his pupils are faded out; that's not an animation error. So yeah, he's not gonna be around for much longer in the world.
