To be honest, I have trouble with hyperbole memes like this in a situation where context is REALLY required.

While it's incredibly fucked up that Canadian doctors are suggesting euthanasia to their depressed or elderly patients, and that this system has become government approved with some wackjobs pushing euthanasia for the sake of profit… this comic just loses all nuance and almost says "lol if you get a booboo Canada will tell you to commit die"

I get that memes will be hyperboles anyway, but in a context like this, I feel like it'll just delve into more and more misinformation about the whole thing.

I think this is the fallacy known as "reductio ad absurdum", and quite ironically one of the most useful fallacies out there.

Push up an already ridiculous proposal to its limit and see how it buckles, see how easy it is to get this into an slippery slope situation, or, worst case scenario, you actually get the other person to agree that's a perfectly cromulent argument and they're glad you finally saw the light of what they are trying to convey. Had that kind of argument a few times.

hears something stupid
extrapolates it to the ultimate worst case scenario
"Pretty reasonable right? That's how things gonna roll"
"Pardon the expression, are you just trolling or are you actually that insane?"
"Who's insane here? You just agreed with this and now you calling me crazy?"
